Ski selection, both model and length, always will be a very personal and subjective decision.  When making your length decision, we have found the following factors should be taken into consideration.

Optimal ski length is typically determined by the following order: weight, ability, height, and aggressiveness.  Less aggressive advancing skiers should error on the shorter size, while more aggressive and accomplished skiers may choose to move up a size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Time on Powder Skis These skis I demoed worked much better on the fresh powder then the groomers I was renting. I am a new skier and these skis worked well for the large powder day we were having.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only ski you need!!! I needed a ski that I could go into the backcountry with but still hold a good edge on trails and groomers. This ski does everything, high speed cruisers, Woods, steps and even chutes! A true all mountain ski!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powder Day at Deer Valley Demo’d The Sould 7 skis at Deer Valley. Usually ski on Sky 7, didn’t think there would be as big a difference between the two. There is for sure. Sould 7 glide across the powder and float down the mountain. Definitely a great powder ski!

Questions

2 questions: 1) 5'11. 160# without touring pack . 180 vs 188. Will be used with tech binding in back country. Varying terrain. Any thoughts? 2) if i were to go with the 188s, what mount: 0 or -2 (length diff appears to be all in tail vs 180 center)

Asked by: silasandeli
Go for the 188, I've tried both (180 and 188) and 188 is more solid in pist, but if you like moguls and freestyle 180's will work better. If you are 6'1 no matter what take the 188's. I'm 6 and I like freeride even though I love doing some Gs turns, after 2 weeks of trying both 188 and 180 I decided Buying 188's. And after 2 months of intense skiing they work amazingly well. You like skiing buy these.

Why choose the SOUL 7 HD

AIR TIP 2.0

AIR TIP2.0 – our new reinforced 3D design is lighter and stronger with a perfectly integrated construction for amplified power, stability, and float. Reduced weight at the extremities concentrates ski mass underfoot, freeing the tips and tails for effortless maneuverability, natural floatation, and playful control in the deepest snow conditions.

FREE VAS

FREE V.A.S. employs visco elastomer through the rocker/camber transition zone to absorb vibrations and reduce tip deflection when skiing through variable snow conditions, increasing comfort, stability, and control.

CARBON ALLOY MATRIX

A new generation of super-fiber, CARBON ALLOY MATRIX delivers high-definition (HD) power, stability, and edge grip while remaining ultra-lightweight. Our unique carbon/basalt diagonal weave combines with linear glass stringers, delivering a balanced flex from tip-to-tail with dynamic mobility, maximum vibration absorption, and titanal-like strength.

SIDEWALL

SIDEWALL constructions feature a layering of core materials (wood, fiberglass, metal, etc.) and full-length vertical sidewalls to deliver optimized edge grip, precision, balance, and power.

POWDER ROCKER

Designed for the deepest powder days, our most progressive rocker/camber profile delivers an award-winning balance of confident versatility and effortless float. The blend of longer, lower tip rocker, tapered tail profile, and traditional camber underfoot allows easy steering, instant speed control and the power, energy, and grip to get you back to the lift.

PAULOWNIA WOODCORE - CAM

This high-performance sandwich construction features a lightweight PAULOWNIA wood core, reducing weight by 30% for enhanced agility, maneuverability, and control while CARBON ALLOY MATRIX technology supplies high-definition power, stability, and grip without the additional weight of metal laminates.
