SNOWBOARD

Looking for a Rossignol snowboard? Not sure which size of board to choose? We're here to help! Whether you're a fan of freeride, freestyle or just looking for a versatile snowboard, Rossignol has developed a range of different snowboards to suit your needs.

How to choose the right size of board

Usually the length of board chosen sits between the chin and the nose of the rider, i.e. between 10-20 cm less than the rider's overall height, depending on the level and ride style. For freestyle riding, choose a snowboard that sits between your shoulder and chin, and for freeride between your nose and chin.  We recommend that you take into account the suggested weight charts, manufacturers' recommended levels and ride style when narrowing down your selection.

- Weight: the greater the weight of the rider, the longer (and sometimes wider) the snowboard must be in order to withstand greater pressure.
- Level: the more experienced the rider, the more they will be able to adapt the size of their board to suit the ride style being practised. A short snowboard will be easier to handle, while a long snowboard will be more stable.
- Ride style: for freestyle snowboards should be shorter, usually lighter, more manoeuvrable and easier to twist and rotate, and for freeride they should be longer, usually more stable at high speed and more suited to powder.

Boot length is the actual measurement taken from the heel to the front end of the boot, and should not be confused with MONDO/US/UK/EURO shoe size measurements. Suggestions for acceptable boot length take into account the width of the board at the inserts and were calculated with a positive angle of 15° on the front foot and a negative angle of 9° on the back foot. Boot length will need to be different if these angles are not the same. For example, they can be 0.5 cm larger at higher angles and 0.5 cm smaller at lower angles.

AMPTEK ELITE ROCKER

INTENSITY TECHNOLOGY: Rossignol's three award-winning and patented rocker/camber blends are each tailored to a specific riding style. AmpTek ELITE features stiffer tips and a softer waist with 60% camber between the feet for explosive pop and stability, and 40% rocker at the tips for catch-free spins and landings for total freestyle domination.

SERRATED EDGES 7M

Our original 7M SERRATED EDGE technology offers seven points of edge contact (three between the inserts and two on either side of the inserts), expanding grip to once unreachable areas of the board for maximum stability and edge hold in the firmest, iciest snow conditions.

BASALT

Stronger and lighter than fiberglass and with more elasticity than carbon, basalt fibers enhance power and stability while removing vibrations.

ARAMID (A.K.A. Kevlar®)

Commonly used in ballistical rated body armor fabric, Aramid dampens vibrations and softens rough landings.

ABS

Featured in sidewalls or built into splitboard cores, ABS provides enhanced durability while keeping the core safe from moisture.

MICROCELL

A PU material that's integrated into wood cores to reduce weight and deliver increased snap, pop and liveliness.

GLASS FIBER

Has greater elongation before break than carbon and comes in multiple weights and weavings, making it our #1 choice for customized flex and torsional resistance. Glass fiber also stabilizes the mechanical properties of our wood cores over time.

ROLLER TIP

An industy-first, Rossignol's Roller technology features a milled core along the edges, raising the edges of the board off of the snow to varying degrees to address the needs of every riding style. TIP ROLLER raises edges 1mm off of the snow just past the contact points, directing snow around the board for increased stability at high speed, better floatation in powder, and reduced swing weight.

THC CBF2

Triple Hybrid Core featuring Dual Torsion Box, CBF² laminate, and three Microcell beams delivers lightweight balance, control and edge grip.

REVERSE SUPER DIRECTIONAL

A very directional inverse flex, extremely stiff under the front foot for confident control and maximum power in demanding terrain, medium stiff under the back foot for more nimble manueverability, and with a stiff waist for increased stability at speed.

FLEX9

Rossignol snowboard FLEX ratings range from softest (1) to stiffest (9) so you can select the best flex pattern for your skill and riding style. Softer boards are easier to manipulate, stiffer boards offer more power and stability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best carving board I have had Hi I’ve been snowboarding aggressively (carving/on edge) for about 12+ years now and I gotta say this is the best board I could’ve bought. If you are advanced+ amazing. Holds edge and then you can bounce yourself to the next edge/turn. It’s decent at powder but make sure to adjust your stance stance. If not your front foot will get tired :) I thought of rossignol as a beginner/rental equipment but this board made me fall in love. This board will forever stay with me and really the stiffness of this board is no joke A++ board. Would like a better back design but honestly it’s not a dealbreaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The tool of greatness! I have been snowboarding for 30 years. The XV 163 is my favorite all mtn ripper i have ever ridden! It is very different than any other snowboard i have used before in that the nose is stiffer than the tail. This allows you to charge through tricky, varied/firm snow, but allows you to easily scrub speed in the POW with its softer tail! Rossignol nailed it on the XV for a hard charging Pow stick! Long live the XV!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insane big mountain board What an amazing weapon. This big mountain stick is incredible. Stiff... very stiff with an edge that cuts into the ice better than Wolverine. I love when tipping it over on edge and can feel super, super confident in creepy conditions. It just doesn't waver underfoot. I do not recommend this snowboard for anyone that's intermediate or below... it is unforgiving. If, on the other hand, you are a strong, confident rider, you can load this thing up with a ton of energy and it will give it back 10-fold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super board but... Super board but why do u make "wide" boards if they are same then the normal... 26 waist is NOT wide at all.
