SNOWBOARD

Looking for a Rossignol snowboard? Not sure which size of board to choose? We're here to help! Whether you're a fan of freeride, freestyle or just looking for a versatile snowboard, Rossignol has developed a range of different snowboards to suit your needs.

How to choose the right size of board

Usually the length of board chosen sits between the chin and the nose of the rider, i.e. between 10-20 cm less than the rider's overall height, depending on the level and ride style. For freestyle riding, choose a snowboard that sits between your shoulder and chin, and for freeride between your nose and chin.  We recommend that you take into account the suggested weight charts, manufacturers' recommended levels and ride style when narrowing down your selection.

- Weight: the greater the weight of the rider, the longer (and sometimes wider) the snowboard must be in order to withstand greater pressure.
- Level: the more experienced the rider, the more they will be able to adapt the size of their board to suit the ride style being practised. A short snowboard will be easier to handle, while a long snowboard will be more stable.
- Ride style: for freestyle snowboards should be shorter, usually lighter, more manoeuvrable and easier to twist and rotate, and for freeride they should be longer, usually more stable at high speed and more suited to powder.

Boot length is the actual measurement taken from the heel to the front end of the boot, and should not be confused with MONDO/US/UK/EURO shoe size measurements. Suggestions for acceptable boot length take into account the width of the board at the inserts and were calculated with a positive angle of 15° on the front foot and a negative angle of 9° on the back foot. Boot length will need to be different if these angles are not the same. For example, they can be 0.5 cm larger at higher angles and 0.5 cm smaller at lower angles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing board Just tested at JH Shaper Summit and I want to buy one now. Its more than fun and stable and playful at speed for its size. ride in 3’ of pow all the way to hard groomer and it crushes it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pow Surfer All The Way Picked this up last season as I wanted a dedicated pow surfer and boy was I happy. By the far the best powder board I'v ridden. My first love is surfing and this board really allowed me to treat the whole mountain like a white wave. Was also pleasantly surprised at how it handled the in bounds chop at the end of the day. I even take it out on groomer days when I want a different kind of ride. Found it performed better with a stiffer binding and boot. So happy I have this in the quiver.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crazy fun, just not for everyone I had the opportunity to demo this board with the XV bindings (awesome set-up, already bought a pair of the XVs for one of my freestyle boards). It was fun but didn't get a chance to test it on pow, just groomers that got sloppier and sloppier as the day went on. I have a feeling that this board would love to float on some deep powder. I'm 5'11, 180lbs and tested the board with some medium flex boots. I think this board would've really shown off its abilities with a stiffer boot, especially with the XV bindings. I took it on a few runs straight down the mountain, or I should say, on whatever runs were open! I would've loved to take this to the top and sailed all the way down. It's a ton of fun but it's definitely a board to add to a quiver, not one that stands alone. So if you already have an all-mountain or two along with a freeride and/or a freestyle, then yeah, this is an excellent addition to your arsenal. I would've liked a little more response at speed, but again, that could probably be fixed if I were wearing my stiffer boots and if I didn't have to confine my runs to piste!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coldsmoke Demo, great pow ride Demo’d this board. 145 and I’m 6'4. Tried it out for an afternoon in pow and groomed + tracked out runs. Came back the next day and signed it out all day. Pow- Very fun pow rides. very easy to pop out of the snow and great to surf in the pow, literally surfing in snow. Stays afloat with ease. Groomed/tracked- Pleasantly surprised on how it handled. The soft nose is forgiving for tight turns, and the stiff tail stays firm while riding. Still fun (butters and jib for days) but would recommend staying in pow as this is what the board is made for. definitely recommend this board if you already have a spare all mountain/ free style board or otherwise have access to pow throughout the season. Defiantly would have picked this one up but broke my board not long after the demo and needed another all mountain.
