My number one tip is not really a tip, it’s more a way of living; always bring a camera.

The forecast might be calling for a bad day, but you never know. Crazy light appears with unstable weather. So even though the weather is bad or the location is less pretty, bring a camera.

I use different cameras for different occasions:
- a larger DSLR that I use for work and action photos,
- a smaller DSLR for big days when I want a lighter backpack,
- a small analog camera that I bring to parties and events.

I think a smaller camera is less intimidating to people, especially if it looks old school and more like a toy. So if you are shooting a party or event, it might be a good idea not to have the largest fanciest camera, since people tend to get uncomfortable around them, but rather go for a analog or old school looking digital camera.

I also shoot with a drone and with my phone as well. Drone photography helps me finding new perspectives and the phone is just super easy to use but I don’t think the quality is there yet and I’ve never used the photos professionally.

With that being said, you don’t need a bunch of different cameras, personally I think investing in a decent DSLR with a few different lenses is a good complement to your cell phone camera, and if you are really into photography I highly recommend an analog camera or drone.
