How to choose the right size of board


Usually the length of board chosen sits between the chin and the nose of the rider, i.e. between 10-20 cm less than the rider's overall height, depending on the level and ride style. For freestyle riding, choose a snowboard that sits between your shoulder and chin, and for freeride between your nose and chin.  We recommend that you take into account the suggested weight charts, manufacturers' recommended levels and ride style when narrowing down your selection.

- Weight: the greater the weight of the rider, the longer (and sometimes wider) the snowboard must be in order to withstand greater pressure.
- Level: the more experienced the rider, the more they will be able to adapt the size of their board to suit the ride style being practised. A short snowboard will be easier to handle, while a long snowboard will be more stable.
- Ride style: for freestyle snowboards should be shorter, usually lighter, more manoeuvrable and easier to twist and rotate, and for freeride they should be longer, usually more stable at high speed and more suited to powder.

Boot length is the actual measurement taken from the heel to the front end of the boot, and should not be confused with MONDO/US/UK/EURO shoe size measurements. Suggestions for acceptable boot length take into account the width of the board at the inserts and were calculated with a positive angle of 15° on the front foot and a negative angle of 9° on the back foot. Boot length will need to be different if these angles are not the same. For example, they can be 0.5 cm larger at higher angles and 0.5 cm smaller at lower angles.

GLASS FIBER

RADCUT

TURN TECHNOLOGY: A traditional sidecut between the inserts fuses with multiple reverse sidecuts toward the tip and tail, providing real time sidecut adjustment to the ride, ie. longer when faster, shorter when slower, and delivering the perfect cut at all times. RadCut is off ered in multiple versions, each tailored for individual riding styles. More aggressive sidecut blends deliver quicker, livelier turns while smoother sidecuts offer a more fluid, relaxed ride.

WOOD CBF1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid First Board 5’8” and 180-ish with gear. Got the 159cm regular width. I’m no stuntman so big and carvy is my thing. Runs great on groomers and holds on ice as well. Haven’t got a good powder day yet but should be awesome. Stable at speed as well. I’d call this thing a hybrid directional…can ride it switch in a pinch when needed with no issues. Borrowed a friends ancient Burton Hero for several seasons and rode his J-Dub quite a bit before grabbing this ONE for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rossignol One Edge tech is a really great feature especially if you’re an east coaster. The board is on the stiffer side but allows for good play in the park, off jumps and Jibbs, along with side hits. Definitely enjoyed riding it anywhere on the mountain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's the one board to have I've ridden this model for many years and this is definitely the best version I've ever been on. Rossignol did a great job refreshing this model. I absolutely love the new tip and tail shape - looks amazing in person. I also really like the increase in camber: it gives the board more life in the turn and more pop off jumps. The serrated edge tech is legit! SO MUCH EDGE HOLD on icy days. I have no clue how they get that transparent core material to absorb so much vibration, but this board is silky smooth underfoot; especially on firm days. This is such an amazing all mountain board to ride.
