LALODGE TV - FT MARTIN FOURCADE

After the first four episodes of his Lalodge TV web series, featuring a mix of freestyle skiing, basketball, motorsports, wakeboarding and e-sports, Hugo Laugier takes aim behind his rifle for this fifth episode!

He is joined by world biathlon legend Martin Fourcade, who makes an appearance to discuss and share his insights into every aspect of skiing, whether freestyle, Alpine, downhill, freeride or ski-jumping. This episode blends humor with performance and reveals the natural complicity between the two champions, as well as the versatility of Martin Fourcade, whose freeride mastery should delight viewers.

IN HUGO'S WORDS:

This winter, coming home to the Vercors, I wanted to create an episode on the theme of winter sports. And who better to discuss it than Martin Fourcade. So, we both took the time to chat about it and Martin was up for it. That's how I ended up with a biathlon legend.

The most important and difficult part was the cross-country skiing. I wanted to mix cross-country skiing with freestyle to bring something new and give it an ‘underground’ vibe. That's why I chose urban spots: I thought it was unusual and exciting at the same time. We shot for 4 days - it was the 4 most physically demanding days of my winter.

Then I had to find an approach to skating. And I quickly turned to the ice rink and field hockey. I found it creative and cool to share a moment together on the ice with the VILLARD DE LANS team.

For the slalom part. I often ski with alpine friends for fun, and they are very interested in freestyle. So I imagined a run"run" that would mix the two disciplines. It was a real personal challenge, because I had never done a slalom run in my life before. I had three days to train and it worked out pretty well.

Of course, I couldn't do an episode without showing Martin's performance, I knew he was very good at freeriding and rando skiing. So, I wanted us to end the episode with a session together.
