Ski selection, both model and length, always will be a very personal and subjective decision.  When making your length decision, we have found the following factors should be taken into consideration.

Optimal ski length is typically determined by the following order: weight, ability, height, and aggressiveness.  Less aggressive advancing skiers should error on the shorter size, while more aggressive and accomplished skiers may choose to move up a size.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile ski Used these skis on my first powder day out west, they did not disappoint! They handled easily in the powder in the bowls and chutes but also carved nicely on a few groomed runs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ski ever! This year I decided to go with the Soul 7 which is a little bit thinner under foot (106) then what I usually go with and I LOVED it. I am a Whistler skier that skis the entire mountain and this was my one ski and it was perfect. Light yet aggressive and very easy and stable in powder yet comfortable on groomed. I recommend this ski for any female that wants to feel like a rockstar on the entire mountain.

Questions

I've been demo testing the Soul 7 HD  at Snowbird and love them! I'm 5'4'' and weigh 105 lbs,  advanced skier. They only have the 164cm ski here and it has been great so far all over the Mt. Do you recommend 156cm or 164cm for me?

Asked by: JeanS
Hi, Based off of the information you provided, the 156 cm length of the SOUL 7 HD W is recommended for someone who is around 100-119 lbs. We recommend going into an authorized Rossignol dealer to get your hands on a pair. I have the older soul7w.  When I purchased them, the shortest length was 164.  I am 5'4" 108 lbs advanced skier for my age of 52. I ski the 164 length fine but am looking to buy the new model and am very interested in the 156? What do you suggest?

Love my skis! I’m looking to maintain them myself and am wondering what the manufactured edge angle is?

Hallo! I'm thinking about getting the Soul 7 and now I see you have both a men's and a women's version. I am 5'7'' and just under 140 lbs. My options are men's 172 cm or women's 170 cm. Any advise?

Asked by: Krickilina
Hello, We advise to a beginner skier to ski the SKY 7 HD to size - 5cm. We advise to an intermediate skier to ski the SKY 7 HD to size. We advise to a confirmed skier to ski the SKY 7 HD to size. We advise to an expert skier to ski the SKY 7 HD to size + 5cm. The SOUL 7 HD and the SOUL 7 W are the same skis. They have the same technologies, the same dimensions: 136 - 106 - 126 mm, the same characteristics. We recommend you, the SOUL 7 W on your height with LOOK bindings, like the LOOK SPX 12 DUAL WTR B120 BK/PINK and the LOOK SPX 12 DUAL WTR B120 WHITE BLUE. Enjoy skiing! The Rossignol Team!

I'm an advanced skier, 5'5", 150 lbs, and want a good powder ski. I am thinking this ski would be a good fit, but need bindings as well. Any suggestions? I mainly resort ski, but thinking of starting up backcountry soon. On resort WTR preferred.

Why choose the SOUL 7 HD W

AIR TIP 2.0

AIR TIP2.0 – our new reinforced 3D design is lighter and stronger with a perfectly integrated construction for amplified power, stability, and float. Reduced weight at the extremities concentrates ski mass underfoot, freeing the tips and tails for effortless maneuverability, natural floatation, and playful control in the deepest snow conditions.

FREE VAS

FREE V.A.S. employs visco elastomer through the rocker/camber transition zone to absorb vibrations and reduce tip deflection when skiing through variable snow conditions, increasing comfort, stability, and control.

CARBON ALLOY MATRIX

A new generation of super-fiber, CARBON ALLOY MATRIX delivers high-definition (HD) power, stability, and edge grip while remaining ultra-lightweight. Our unique carbon/basalt diagonal weave combines with linear glass stringers, delivering a balanced flex from tip-to-tail with dynamic mobility, maximum vibration absorption, and titanal-like strength.

SIDEWALL

SIDEWALL constructions feature a layering of core materials (wood, fiberglass, metal, etc.) and full-length vertical sidewalls to deliver optimized edge grip, precision, balance, and power.

POWDER ROCKER

Designed for the deepest powder days, our most progressive rocker/camber profile delivers an award-winning balance of confident versatility and effortless float. The blend of longer, lower tip rocker, tapered tail profile, and traditional camber underfoot allows easy steering, instant speed control and the power, energy, and grip to get you back to the lift.

PAULOWNIA WOODCORE - CAM

This high-performance sandwich construction features a lightweight PAULOWNIA wood core, reducing weight by 30% for enhanced agility, maneuverability, and control while CARBON ALLOY MATRIX technology supplies high-definition power, stability, and grip without the additional weight of metal laminates.
