SNOWBOARD

Looking for a Rossignol snowboard? Not sure which size of board to choose? We're here to help! Whether you're a fan of freeride, freestyle or just looking for a versatile snowboard, Rossignol has developed a range of different snowboards to suit your needs.

How to choose the right size of board

Usually the length of board chosen sits between the chin and the nose of the rider, i.e. between 10-20 cm less than the rider's overall height, depending on the level and ride style. For freestyle riding, choose a snowboard that sits between your shoulder and chin, and for freeride between your nose and chin.  We recommend that you take into account the suggested weight charts, manufacturers' recommended levels and ride style when narrowing down your selection.

- Weight: the greater the weight of the rider, the longer (and sometimes wider) the snowboard must be in order to withstand greater pressure.
- Level: the more experienced the rider, the more they will be able to adapt the size of their board to suit the ride style being practised. A short snowboard will be easier to handle, while a long snowboard will be more stable.
- Ride style: for freestyle snowboards should be shorter, usually lighter, more manoeuvrable and easier to twist and rotate, and for freeride they should be longer, usually more stable at high speed and more suited to powder.

Boot length is the actual measurement taken from the heel to the front end of the boot, and should not be confused with MONDO/US/UK/EURO shoe size measurements. Suggestions for acceptable boot length take into account the width of the board at the inserts and were calculated with a positive angle of 15° on the front foot and a negative angle of 9° on the back foot. Boot length will need to be different if these angles are not the same. For example, they can be 0.5 cm larger at higher angles and 0.5 cm smaller at lower angles.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please make a wide 174 Splitboard I have the 174 wide xv and its superb in every way. I also have purchased the 167 xv Splitboard and I can see its its going to potentially give me problems with my large feet size on steep riding. This is the only board I want to ride now as its the best I have ridden. Please make a Splitboard version of the 174 xv

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great if you've got small feet I've been riding this board every day for over a month now. It will charge nearly anything, but the board is simply not wide enough. I'm always catching my toes/ heals and I ride a large union binding with size 12 boots. I love the shape and responsiveness but for "must make" turns in no fall zones, I lose confidence in the Wide XV. She is a steep pow fiend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Board I am in the same opinion as the reviewer before. Really a greate board, which rocks if you bring it on edge. I test the split version in 167 on glacier in Austria Hintertux. Over the run we had all kind of conditions. It was incredible between bumps, on gromer, on soft snow and especially on platse completely of ice. I was suprise how the hard noise - soft tail shape was running and fall in love. Bought me the 164 wide version. Same request for future ... Make it a real wide version!!! No one is buying this pro board - who is afraid of slow edge to edge transfer. Best regards from Germany Jens Ps: Please appologize the orthography

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Snowboard I know of... but.... I earned the 14/15 and the 17/18 XV 168 Wide and the 17/18 XV 164 Wide Splitboard. It is the best snowboard for agressive off AND on piste, incredible stable at higher speeds, the stiffness infront of your binding helps imense to bulldoze through the most uneven terrain! I am a BIG fan of the Magtek edges on this board! BUT, I have Bootsize EUR45,5/US11,5 which is not superbig but SADLY I have BIG struggles with massive toe and heeldrag since the board is not Wide enough... this affects me heavily while deep and fast carving on slopes and especially scary when you are traversing steeps in harder snow conditions.. I am snowboarding for over 25 years and I dont want any other board BUT please make a real WIDE version of it for the big boys who love this ultimate shredstick! I made a lot of thoughts about this subject and i would "recommend" a waist width of 275mm, and leave the rest as wonderful as it is! Thank you Xavier and Rossi for this great Snowboard, but a wide board should be wide enough! my prayers are on for the next years version! best regards Stephan Willmes Austria

Why choose the ANGUS WIDE

AMPTEK ALL MOUNTAIN ROCKER

Our three patented blends of rocker and camber are each tailored to a specific riding style and intensity level. Featuring softer extremities and a stiffer waist, AMPTEK ALL-MOUNTAIN has a 60/40 rocker/camber blend for well-balanced edge grip, stability, forgiveness, and float.

SERRATED EDGES 5S

Our exclusive 5S SERRATED EDGE technology offers five, smaller points of edge contact (one between the inserts and two on either side of the inserts), expanding grip to once unreachable areas of the board for increased stability and edge hold with a smoother, less aggressive feel.

WOOD CK1

Our WOOD C/K core features a single type of wood laminated through the center with Carbon and Kevlar fibers for an easy-to-manipulate flex that's isn't overpowering.
