Frustrated with IFP serviceability
Our household has always bought Rossignol. Between myself, my wife, and two kids we've had 10 pairs of xc skis; all Rossi. This year, my wife and I both got a new pair of these Delta skates. The fourth time skiing on hers, one of the mounting plates on my wife's ski cracked causing the binding to come off and her to fall. She is not an aggressive skier. There is no reason for it to have cracked.
Far worse is the fact that the plates aren't screwed in. They're glued or epoxied right to the ski. That makes it much more difficult to service. The ski shop (Base Camp in Helena Montana) did right by us and swapped them out for new. But, even they were frustrated with the new permanent IFPs.
In the future if it's between this design and a different brand, I'll go with a different brand.
