Rossignol Factory Team : Round 2 at La Thuile, Italy

Still in Italy, the second round of the EWS is in La Thuile, on the other side of the famous “Col du Petit St Bernard”.

La Thuile is well known for his technical, and steep terrain. A wild race ahead!

This edition is a double race : The first on the 8th of July and the second on the 11th. Each race combines 4 stages, 2730M of elevation, and 30km. Our athletes Estelle & Clément CHARLES love this type of terrain.

Thursday 07/08 – Race #3 :

In the heart of the Aosta valley, La Thuile is also well known for its variable forecast. Between heavy rainstorm and sunshine, athletes are ready to ride a mixed terrain with very wet sections.

Estelle CHARLES did a great start with a 5th position after the stage 1. She continues with a consistent race with a P9 on stage 2 and 3. Finally, she lost some precious seconds on stage 4 with a P14. She is ending up with an 8th place on the overall – good job! Time 0:29:22.40 (+0.01 :23.01)

Clément CHARLES had also a great start with a 22nd place at stage 1. Technical parts are the things he likes the most, but he managed to do a few mistakes on Stage 2 & 4. Clément ended up at the 27th place. Good and consistent! Timing 0:24:47.83 (+0:01:07.92).

Saturday 07/10  – Pro Stage :

A unique format of the EWS – the pro stage is a short and fast stage in the evening ahead of the rest of the stages the following day. Top 5 men & women gains extra points.

Sun is shining for the pro stage. The track is basically the stage 4 without the pedaling section at the top. It keeps the technical and spectacular section for the fans.

Estelle CHARLES: Despite an impressive run on the Rock Garden (The Fastest girl of its category). Physical sections are hard, and she loses some pace. She’s ending up 11. Still good and consistent. Time: 4:58.33 (+0:16.83)

Clément CHARLES: Great performance from Clément. He rides the pro stage with flow and commitment and raise his self at the 12th position. His best result within the Rossignol Factory Team so far! Timing : 4:05.52 (+0:09.18)

Sunday 07/11 – Race #4

Saturday night had a lot of rain, but the sun is back for the last EWS race of the week. First stages are very wet with slippery roots, but the track should dry slowly during the day. Athletes chose Mud tires in the last minute.

Estelle CHARLES : After a long and physical week, Estelle keeps a good flow and ride consistently. A few pedaling section made her lose some precious time. She ended up at the 10th position. Timing : 0:35:13.88 (+0:01:31.59)

Clément CHARLES : He keeps a good flow and ride fast with a 13th position on stage 2 and a 14th place on stage 4. Clément loose time during physical sections on stage 3 and 5 but keep the right rhythm (position 21). The French rider end with a P14. His best result so far on the EWS circuit. A top 15, congrats ! Timing 0:35:13.88 (+0:01:31.59).
