- How works your training structure?

I train with the "Freeski Academy" which is a freeride and freestyle club located in the French resort of Les Arcs. We are a group of 10 juniors/qualifiers. Our coaches train and help us with everything, from technical sessions, to line scoping and even mental strength. Our club has training all year around, which is our strength I think. We do indoor, outdoor, at the freestyle-center etc. During the winter we are up at the ski area and I ski 3 to 5 days a week, depending on school.

Les Arcs has the best terrain you can find. There is everything from BC lines, park skiing, BC spots, minigolf, steep faces, rocks, trees… this is really the best place to push yourself to get better.

- And what are you spending your time when you are training or competing?

Last winter during my free time, I skied a lot with my girlfriend Astrid Cheylus (Freeride World Champion, Junior Ski Women) and her brother Edgar. We skied all over the place, laughed a lot, we had many good times.

School is also taking a lot of times during the winter. I'm in my last year and passing my grade this spring, my Baccalauréat. So I’ve also passed my French "Bac Ski” (a GS course + an interview) to get more more points for my last grade in school, finishing Lycee this spring - and I still have a lot of homework to do with the lockdown.

I also did a lot of shooting and interviews this season. And I'm pretty stoked because this season, I’m also involved in a Swedish film-project for Red Bull called "Season Pass" that will drop next fall.

Then summer arrives and I usually move down in the South of France, in Biarritz where I skate and surf a lot. And I also do some gym sessions with my Prep Marvin, he has a sepcial program to get me physically ready for winter.

- What do you think of this season?

This season was really different and tough. First of all? because I fractured my fibula at the start of the season, so I couldn’t compete any comp’s before end of January. I couldn’t even ski or go to training until Jan 20th. That means I started my season with the Junior World Championships in Kappl, Austria. Besides, it is for me the biggest competition of the year. And I ended up at 2nd place. I could not have asked for a better late start!

For the rest of the season I just wanted to do the most playful runs as possible. And it worked out very well because I took two 1st places in the 3* competitions in Ordino, Andorra and La Clusaz, France. And then, I took a 2nd place in Fieberbrunn, Austria. Even if I started at the middle of the season, with these three results I won the overall rankings 2020 in the Freeride Junior Tour.

I love to compete so I don’t often get stressed before a race. On the opposite, I am even more excited to do my run! Everytime I ski a face, I always try to find the best line for me, and I always try to include some spots for a big 360 or other fun freestyle stuff that get me pumped up to ski it. The inspiration just bubbles inside me.

And the season ended abrupt, you all know why. We are now all sitting in our homes at the moment, and on my side working on my homework and dream to go back up there.

I still have a little dream, that in May I can still go up to the North, to Riksgränsen in Sweden, to compete and defend my title I won last year in the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships.

But only time will tell.

Take care of yourself, see you on the mountains, as soon as possible!
