SKATING

On average, the ideal pole size is considered to be equal to the skier's height multiplied by 0.84 for classic cross-country skiing, and 0.89 for skate skiing.

For Nordic skiing, your pole must reach your shoulder.

For skate skiing, measure the distance from the ground to your ear; even if it seems high, it's the minimum needed to generate good thrust.
