After 14 years on the international circuit, Tor Arne Hetland decides to put an end to his career.
Winner of the 2005 Sprint World Cup, World Champion of this discipline in 2001 and Olympic Champion in 2002, the 35 year-old racer will stop the high level competitions for health reasons. He however hopes to be able to be at the start of the Vasaloppet or Engadin races next season.
We once again thank him for his great results and wish him a good continuation.
Marie Dorin (Fra) claimed a first World Cup podium!
After Marie Laure Brunet’s podium last week in Trondheim, French Marie Dorin followed the same way and offered herself her first World Cup podium taking 3rd place in the Pursuit held last Saturday during the Finales at Kanthy-Mansyisk!!!
Starting n°9, the 23 year old skier made a perfect race with only one fault in the third passage at the shooting range
This is a great season end for the tricolors who will be, for sure, ultra-motivated for the next season!
All in all, the team Rossignol achieved 7 individual podiums with 2 victories this season on the World Cup Tour!
And in the World Championships at Pyeong-Chang (Cor), our racers won 5 medals!
1 Gold:
- Marie-Laure Brunet (Fra) in mixed relay
2 Silver:
- Carl-Johan Bergman (Swe) in mixed relay
- Martina Beck (Ger) in women’s relay
2 Bronze:
- Marie-Laure Brunet (Fra) in women’s relay
- Marie Dorin (Fra) in women’s relay
Marie-Laure, whose best result was a 4th place last season, achieved this week end in Trondheim her first podium on the World Cup Tour!
Indeed, the 20 year-old biathlete claimed 3rd place in the Pursuit raced on Saturday! After only one shoot missed in the final shot, Marie-Laure made a great ascent and gave it all to sign a first podium, one week before the Finales which will be held in Kanthy Mansyisk (Russia) this week!
"I am very happy because this is the first podium of my career in an individual race. It is a big day for me. I missed the final shot, but 19-of-20 is good shooting for me. I like the track and profile here, so my skiing was quite good."
