Me and my friend Helge came down here for 2 weeks ago. In the beginning it was raining here in Hochfûgen, so we had to rethink where to stay. So I called some friends who where staying in Chamonix, and they said it was the same condition there, and it seems to be like that all over the Alps. So we agreed to stay here in Hochfûgen, and I am glad we did so. It came out to be quite amazing here. The snow was dumping in the night, and the sun came up in the day. The first days was a little bit scetchy, we trigged avalanches, so we didnt ski the big lines, safty first! But after a while the snow become stabil. Me and Helge had some amazing big mountain skiing, and powder turns. This place is a freerider mecca for sure. We had the first week our self, and then more and more good friends from Norway/Sogndal came.
I actually dislocated my shoulder in a stupid fall. I was skiing a travers and had my alpineshoes loose, and little too much speed in a left turn and poped off a colouir, it was not that high, but it was enough. I have dislocated my shoulder meny times, so 1,5 day of recovery and I was skiing again, am starting to get used to it;)

In about two days we are sadly travelling home to Norway, the money is ended and school is calling, but I hope to come back later. I will ski some freeride comps in Norway, but which comps I will choose am not sure yet.
I have to say, I just love the Rossignol Squads, they are perfect for me!

I have added some pictures. Its snapshots from gopro, but its okey.
An video edit will come later, I had some problems with the gopro, the micro SD card got fucked, so the best lines is not there, but I have something. Maybe gopro edits is starting to get a little bit boring, everyone is doing it, but I like it:)

Best Regards Ola Reidar.

News from Ola Reidar Nyrnes

Hi:)

A little update.

Some weeks has past, and I have got my first pair of Rossignols! My first day of skiing with Rossignol was at the season opening at Hemsedal resort. The snow was good in the morning, but true the day it got little soft. I skied with Squad all day long. The ski are so big, but so playfull that I got in love with it the first turn. Its my kind of skis, and I cant wait to get into bigger lines and shred the mountain. I think it is the best ski I have ever skied on, it felt like where ment to be. The Sickle ski was not touching snow that day, but it will!

Sadly there is no snow here in Sogndal yet. Some resorts here in Norway are open, but its to far away to ski just for a weekend, and its not so much snow, and I have some exams at the school. But am praying my butt of to the higher gods to send me some snow. The mountains here have snow, but its ice hard, so we need more. Now its december and Christmas-day with no snow is not good!

Me and some good friends are planing to travel the Alps in January. We will stay there for 14 days, where we stay in the Alps is based on the snow. I like Austria and Zillertal, and hope to stay there.

Some more pics and videos will come, when the snow is here. Gopro Hero 3 is in the haus, so am ready.

Have added two pics, one pic is the first day a got squads, and the next pic is from Hemsedal, is not good pictures, but its just a update:)

Best regards Ola Reidar Nyrnes.

Enak Gavaggio and Sam Favret join the Rossignol Freeride Team!/ local news

Riders in this news :  Benoit VALENTIN  ; Joffrey POLLET-VILLARD  ;   ; Parker West White  ;

Rossignol is proud to announce the arrival of two major figures from the freeride scene, who will strengthen our international team and help us make progress in freeskiing.

Enak GAVAGGIO, a charismatic figure and freeski icon, is an ultra-versatile skier - a talented freerider and X-Games Ski Cross winner. He will bring his experience, energy and passion to the team. Enak is the best product ambassador imaginable when it comes to representing Rossignol's Freeride ranges, whether it's skis, boots, bindings or clothing.
"Rossignol is an inspiration to me, a kind of legend. I love its authenticity. The fact that it's French also appealed to me. I hope we can do great things together, especially in Freeride to boost the S7 which is an exceptional ski. I am really proud to represent Rossignol."

Sam FAVRET, a 21-year-old from Chamonix, is a super-talented backcountry freerider, just as much at home committing to high-altitude lines as in freestyle. He is one of the brightest prospects of the new generation, a generation which is reinventing freeride by combining mountain knowledge, creativity and the ultra-modern style borrowed from freestylers.
"I am happy to be representing a French company. We already have loads of projects for next season. We're going to bring back as many images as possible from all over the planet and be able to tell some great stories."

"We want to build a team with a strong identity that reflects what freeride means to Rossignol: a diverse sport bringing different generations together and celebrating freedom, inspiration, enthusiasm and the pleasure of being in the mountains. In the S7 we developed skis that revolutionized freeride skiing: more fun, easier, more modern, more creative. We would like to work with athletes who represent those values and can contribute their energy and ideas. Enak is an extraordinary skier, so complete and very well respected on the scene. He's a creative spirit with a gift for inspiring others. We are very proud to have him with us. As for Sam, he has massive potential and will also be among those ushering in the renewal of freeride", said Yann Laphin, Rossignol Group's Communications Director.

On the freestyle side, the Rossignol half pipe team is continuing intensive training for the next Olympics. The sport is making its first appearance on the Olympic scene at the 2014 Sochi games. The team is very motivated and has made a good start to the season on the back of Benoît VALENTIN's 3rd places in the Freeski Open of New Zealand and the Cardrona World Cup in August. The 2010/2011 World Cup half pipe champion will have company this season in the shape of Joffrey POLLET-VILLARD, 2012 SFR Tour champion, and Xavier BERTONI, superpipe champion at the 2009 Aspen X-Games, 3rd in 2010 and a silver medalist in Tignes that year.

In North America, Parker WHITE brought home the award for best performance of the year at IF3, Montreal's International Freeski Film Festival, for his part in the Level 1 movie Sunny. For Franz Marsan, Rossignol Group's head of Freeski Sports Marketing: "Parker White has become THE big name. He skis at an incredible level with a unique style and never ending creativity".
As for Kye PETERSEN, winner of the 2012 Freeride World Tour Revelstoke and star of the multi-award winning film All I can (Sherpas Cinemas) and Dan TREADWAY, they continue to ski the world, in search of new terrain and the kind of shoots that dreams are made of.
