Défago won Kitzbühel Super G

Riders in this news :  Didier DEFAGO

Didier Défago has won the Super G in Kitzbühel ahead of Bode Miller (+0.05). Aksel Lund Svindal and Max Franz (+0.15) share the third place. 15 days before the Olympic Games in Sochi, this is a huge victory for the reigning Downhill Olympic Champion.
I’m happy. I had a great feeling during the race. I was angry after the downhill. Since Bormio, I know that I’m not far from the podium. Today, I do a run without mistakes. I didn’t think I was ahead because the course was very tight!
The racer from Rossignol Team has already had a good result on the Streif with a win in 2009 in downhill. Luc Alphand, three times winner in Kitzbühel, was very impressed by Defago’s performance: “Didier, it’s my hero! I found that it was huge when he has made the double Wengen-Kitz in 2009. He has the racing in the blood, I’m happy for him!
Today, Didier Défago signs his second career victory in Super G. “My skis were well prepared, I would like to say my servicemen big thanks”.

Grande Lara!

Riders in this news :  Lara GUT

Lara Gut has signed her third victory in Super G this season after Beaver Creek and Lake Louise. In Cortina d’Ampezzo, she has found once again the way of the podium ahead of Tina Weirather and Maria Höfl-Riesch. The racer from Rossignol Team secures her leadership in Super G World Cup standing. “It is a good feeling to win today. I started the season so strong with four podiums in the early races, but then the tour came back to Europe and I never to be seen on the podium again. It was a difficult time, I could see success in my mind, but you couldn’t see it on the slopes. Now today, this win, it was very important for me.” (Quote: Fis Alpine)

Kristoffersen, HERO of the Kitzbühel night

Riders in this news :  Henrik KRISTOFFERSEN

Following the launch of the Hero Range on Thursday in Kitzbühel, Henrik Kristoffersen has realized a strong performance in Austria taking the second place of the slalom! The racer from Rossignol Team signs the third podium of his career behind Felix Neureuther (GER) and ahead of Patrick Thaler (ITA).
Ninth of a technical first run, the Norwegian has skiing very well in a bumpy second run and was so happy to sign a podium here during the mythic stage of Kitzbühel. “I used to watch this race as a kid. Kitz is very special, I’m very proud to make a podium here.” When we ask the talented Norwegian what he has changed since last year, he thinks that “he is one year older and he is only concentrated this year on the World Cup and not between the Europa Cup and the World Cup stages.”
At only 19 years old, Henrik Kristoffersen is already among the best slalom guys of the world but for the moment he prefers to stay focused on the next World Cups – slalom in Schladming and Giant Slalom in St Moritz- and not to think about the Olympic Games: “I don’t know what Olympic Games are, I don’t want to imagine, I just want to learn about this big event”.
Next stop for Henrik Kristoffersen will be at Schladming on Tuesday, still for a night slalom… To be a HERO one more time?

The talented young Norwegian has realized a strong second run and he is now among the best technician of the World Cup. It’s the second podium of the season for the Rossignol racer after his third place in Levi.

It's crazy with 30,000 people cheering for you when you come down, it's your moment. This finish definitely ranks pretty high on my list." (Quote : Fis Alpine)
