Comments about Rossignol SUPER 7 OPEN:

I bought this ski for the intention to use it as a freeride/ deep powder/ touring ski. I mounted a pair of Marker Baron 13 2012 and spend every day in the Kootneys.

The ski was very responsive and stable. Turning was surprisingly easy and responsiveness was instant. The more energy I put into the ski, the more the skis gave back. In the backcountry glade with dense trees, I felt confident at high speeds.

However, when it came time to use it as a back country freeride ski (BC booters) the skis showed it ugliness. The ski was not just heavy; it acted so heavy that it would break my momentum in the air. The ski was lazy on butters and switch skiing switch in deep powder was nearly impossible. I traces the problem to the heavy tips of the skis.
If heli skiing (or if you are in superb shape) or touring is your thing, the skis are for you. The feeling of the ski is unreal. But I would suggest to wait for Rossignol to correct the weight problem if you want to send tricks off cliffs and powder jumps.

Comments about Rossignol SUPER 7 OPEN:

Best pow ski i've ever used. I replaced my 2010 gotama's with this and this ski is so much livelier. It's better and more fun/floating in the powder and surprisingly even better and livelier on groomers too. If your looking for a great powder ski and are a strong skier check these out... or the armada JJ's which are very similar but more hard charging i find (personally i like super's better though).

Comments about Rossignol SUPER 7 OPEN:

Just added this to my quiver. Awesome in the deep powder and crud which we get a lot of on the USA West Coast. This ski floats on top and easily carves through the deep stuff or plows through the heavy crud. I wouldn't use it on a packed powder or groomer day. Probably want some carvers for that. But it is super fun in the fresh stuff!

I have used 2010, S-7's, and for US WEST skiing, I will never go back to my narrower skiis, and that includes groomed/mogul/powder
