Riders in this news : Martin FOURCADE
What a beautiful day for Martin Fourcade! After the underachievement during the mixed relay, the biathlete of Team Rossignol assured his leader place in the sprint this Saturday. Silver medallist of the psrint in 2011 Khanty-Mansiyk World Championships, Martin Fourcade realizes the best time in ski and becomes World Champion with two mistakes in shooting. Emil Svendsen, his principal opponent counted also two penalties. At 23 years old, Martin signs his tenth victory and his second title of World Champion after that won during the pursuit in 2011. He also marks precious points compared with Svendsen in the race for the small globe of the sprint and the big globe of the overall ranking.
Carl-Johan Bergman from Team Rossignol completes this beautiful podium. With no fault in shooting, he would have been able to worry both leaders but he did not hold the rhythm at the end of the race. This bronze medal is a beautiful performance for the Swede who signed two victories in sprint this season in Ostersund and Hochfilzen.
We congratulate our two athletes and we wish them good luck for the pursuit on Sunday!
Note the beautiful 5th place of Marie-Laure Brunet (Rossignol) in the Sprint !
The World Championships of biathlon began this afternoon in Ruhpolding in Germany with the mixed relay. The best teams of every nation were lined up in spring conditions. Both girls had to make each a tour of 6km with two stops in the shooting, the boys had a run of 7,5km.
The French relay composed for the Team Rossignol with Marie-Laure Brunet, Marie Dorin-Habert and Martin Fourcade missed his appointment in spite of the good beginning. Marie-Laure (9/10 in the shooting) then Marie (10/10 in the shooting) was strong because Marie has given the relay in the lead to Simon Fourcade. But Simon cracks down in the shooting counting more than 2 minutes of delay when he gives the relay to Martin. This last one will not manage to catch up the accumulated delay and the French team ends 11th.
Norwayconserves his title of World Champion after receiving a time adjust because of a technical problem. Slovenia and Germany complete the podium.

Martin Fourcade: "I am very satisfied with the equipment, we are working closely with Rossignol to produce the best skis. This means I can concentrate on my preparation and training, and have the peace of mind of knowing the rest is being managed perfectly. It's also a pleasure to be working with a French company. I wanted to go on with the group when it was not doing so well, so it makes sense to stay with them when the business is doing better."

Riders in this news : Ida INGEMARSDOTTER
During the sprint of Szklarska Poreba in Poland, Ida Ingemarsdotter (Rossignol) dominates the race for the second time of her career. Victorious in Milano on January, the Swede ends ahead Maiken Caspersen Falla and Kikkan Randall.
Ida Ingemarsdotter (SWE) : "I'm really satisfied. I did not feel good this morning. I thought I would be happy with a place in the finals. It was my plan to attack in the downhill. I wanted to be first in the sharp curve before the finishing straight. I was focused on the finish line and tried to do my best and I was hoping to keep the first place."
For the men, Johan Olsson finishes first of the 15km Classic. Rossignol Team realizes a good result together with Alexander Legkov 3rd, Ilia Chernousov 4th and Eldar Roenning 5th.
Alexander Legkov (RUS) :"It was a very hard race today. I am happy for my good result that I could come back after Rybinsk where I was back. It is good result for the overall World Cup standing. It was difficult to choose skis today. I was testing a lot and went for wax skis. Ilia is my friend and I am happy for his good result. We will divide the prize money. I am looking forward to the World Cup final in Falun. 50 km Classic in Oslo is not for me." (Source FIS)
