Today, competition is back on with the 2nd halfpipe worldcup stage, here at Park City. Park City…Mister T’ home resort. (Tanner Hall).
No need to say that our two French riders are on fire, they both want the podium’s highest step; Xavier wants to bear out his X-games victory and Kevin, not really satisfied after his 8th position in Aspen is really about to fire the place up!
Note To Self; Halfpipe Worldcup 1st stage: Xavier Bertoni 1st & Kevin Rolland 3rd.
Hail To The King !
He did it! Xavier Bertoni just got into freestyle skiing history! This night our French rider, didn’t even give a chance to the 7 best freestylers in the world.
You’re guys are not dreaming; Xavier Bertoni outran Tanner Hall and Simon Dumont with an absolutely perfectly perfect run; 93,66! Insane!
Now everyone is talking about Xavier and his unique style, just check his last 10 to get what I’m talking about!
We’re all celebrating Xavier’s crowning so you’ll get a video report in a few! Right now, check Xavier’s run.
We told you Rossignol riders were in good shape!
Today, the real world is on; superpipe ski qualifications. A event to which only 18 riders can take part of…hey! We’re talking about the best freestylers in the world!
Qualifications’ outcome sounds like a blockbuster's trailer; only 8 riders will get to the finals…it’s obvious that every single run is worth its weight in gold. Xavier Bertoni goes first…he throws a legendary run and owns 87,66 points. After this super sick run Xavier gets the first place and Kevin is just behind with 80,00 points! Can you believe it? Our two French riders 1st and 2nd after the first run!
We hold our breath for the second run. Xavier and Kevin did not score higher and some rider named Tanner Hall got the first position…
Anyway it’s a sick-o result for Xavier and Kevin; they get 2nd and 4th as we’re done with qualifications. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s X-Games XIII superpipe finals!

Today, January 20th, last superpipe training session.
As the training started we could feel that some riders are under pressure, now we’re D-1, everyone keeps in mind how big X-games are. This year, every single rider reached an incredible level, that means that the competition is going to be really really tough. We’re not gonna whine about it…that’s what we want!
Forecasts vary about this year’s final rankings but let me tell you that Xavier & Kevin definitely impressed the staff during the training session. Xavier throws a really technical run*, he just needs to get some air so he can stand on the podium. On the other hand, Kevin’s amplitude is still incredible; add to this, technical and wide-ranged tricks**. We’re counting on him to get the highest step on the podium!
Chinese food after the training! Our riders go to bed early so they can be ready to rock tomorrow. I think we know what they’re dreaming about…
Half-pipe Qualifications start tomorrow, only 8 riders will get to the second stage…
See you tomorrow.
