Matteo Marsaglia doesn’t stop anymore! After his nice victory in Beaver Creek Super G two weeks ago, the Italian racer has controlled the challenging slope of Val Gardena. He ends second behind Aksel Lund Svindal and ahead of Werner Heel. Equipped from head to foot by Rossignol this year, Marsaglia confirms his rank among the best skiers of the World Cup: “I take pleasure in this slope. To be at home was a little pressure for me but it was ok because I knew that I’ve been among the best. I should make the difference in the “Ciaslat” in particular snow conditions. This Year, I have progressed in Super G but I miss some things in Dowwhill. I want to be also on the top in this discipline.Christof Innerhofer takes the 10th place.

Canada’s Jan Hudec finished 12thin Friday’s World Cup super-G in Val Gardena. But the performance of day is for Manuel Osborne-Paradis. Started with bib 52, he ended 18th after a determined run on the Saslong. Winner here in Val Gardena in 2009, Manny comes back after almost two years of injury: “I’m happy. I’m definitely pumped with this result. I’m skiing better technically than I was before my injury. It’s just little bobbles here and little bobbles there. That was feel your way down (conditions). You couldn’t see anything. I knew I needed a point to secure a super-G spot for myself. I wasn’t really racing to win, just smart skiing”.

Federica Brignone should take a stop

Riders in this news :  Federica BRIGNONE

Federica Brignone has decided to skip the Giant Slalom in Courchevel scheduled next Sunday. The 22 years Italian racer should take a break to have a surgery on her right ankle.

She has a cyst witch avoids her to skiing. It’s a logical decision for the 2011 silver medallist in Ginat Slalom

I came to a point where I couldn’t keep going. The pain became intolerable and I am struggling to even walk properly. I tried to keep going, but skiing became a pain and stopped being fun. I came to this decision in agreement with all my doctors, and at this point I don’t want to rush things. I am young and solely focused on healing properly and coming back to having fun on my skis. I am sure I will be back stronger then before.”, said Federica Brignone in a press release.
