Riders in this news :  Lara GUT  ; Maria PIETILAE-HOLMNER

What a beautiful Sunday in Val d’Isère with the ladies Giant Slalom. Tina Weirather made an impressive race and took the first place ahead of two Rossignol girls Lara Gut and Maria Pietilae-Holmner. Federica Brignone was just off the podium in 4th position while Jessica Lindell Vikarby ended 5th but kept the lead of the GS World Cup.
Lara Gut didn’t finish the two last GS in Beaver Creek and in Saint Moritz but the Swiss racer knew that she was skiing fast: “It’s fun to be back on the podium. I take risks, I knew that my ski was good and fast. On this slope, it was hard to win one second during the second run, only if Tina Weirather has made a big mistake.” It’s her 4th podium in this speciality after her victory in Sölden this season.
Maria Pietilae-Holmner was so happy to sign her first World Cup GS podium. Silver medallist in this discipline at 2007 Are World Championships, she had good results since the beginning of the season. 7th in Sölden, 4th in Beaver Creek, 6th in Saint Moritz, she has taken the third place today in Val d’Isère. “I had two seasons with injuries to my knee and my shoulder and I work really hard to come back in GS. This podium is a perfect Christmas gift!
Rossignol congratulates all its team and wishes to all racers community a Merry Christmas!

Riders in this news :  Jan HUDEC

Jan Hudec has finished second of the Super G in Val Gardena behind Aksel Lund Svindal and ahead of Adrien Théaux. The Canadian racer claimed his first podium since March 2012 in Crans Montana. Today, the skier from Rossignol Team counts five World Cup podiums including two victories in Downhill. “I’m stoked I was able to ski the way I wanted to ski. I finally have no pain and that gives me great confidence to push hard and ski to my full potential. I was super focused today and I avoided any mistakes, which I made in Lake Louise and Beaver creek. Also my skis were perfect, I knew that without major mistakes I could be on the podium. This is just huge. It’s confirmation that I’ve been doing the right things and just going with it and being patient. I knew my time in the sport wasn’t up and I wouldn’t have carried on skiing if I didn’t believe I could do this.”
