One year before the Olympic Games in Sochi, Martin Fourcadehas shown that this slope was good for him by winning the 20km Individual and the Sprint. He is also secured to win the big crystal globe of overall World Cup for the second time in a row. He has already won the small globes of the individual, pursuit and sprint and he will try to catch those of the Mass Start next week in Khanty-Mansiysk.
"This week, my goal was to get a good feeling for the Sochi tracks. I am most proud of holding the yellow Bib from the first race to the last. My goal now is to take all five crystal globes with me back to France. For this I need to be strong in the mass start next week."
Due to a back injury, the biathlete of Team Rossignol didn’t participate to the relay on Sunday. His French teammates ends fifth and finishes third of the discipline’s ranking.

In Sochi, one year before the Olympic Games, Martin Fourcade has signed the 21th victory of his career in the 20km Individual. Four individual races before the end of the season, he secures the big crystal globe of overall World Cup for the second time in a row. He also wins this Thursday the crystal globe of the Individual and he will try to catch the three others like Raphael Poirée in 2004. "It is really cool to win here today...now I have my Gold medal from Sochi. It is good for my mind to win here today, now I have to win here next year."
Olga Zaitseva,our Russian biathlete, ends second of the ladies 15km Individual: "I knew if I shot clean, I had a chance to be on the podium...I think the extra week of training here helped me and it will also help me recover easier than the others who just arrived a few days ago."

”After some days of rest after World Championships, World Cup came back in Oslo, Norway. With 2 penalties and very good feelings on skis, I finish second just one-tenth behind Norway’s Boe who shooting clean. It’s always irritating to end so close of the victory, it’s the third time this season! But I’m happy because there are still seven races this season and I count 147 points in advance on Emil Svendsen.”

Fourth of the Sprint on Friday, Marie Dorin-Habert has taken revenge during the Pursuit. She ends second with two penalties behind Tora Berger and ahead of Anastasia Kuzmina. The biathlete from Team Rossignol signs her sixth career podium, the second in individual this winter after her third place in Pokljuka in the Pursuit too. "I am a very, very... lucky woman and I am very happy today. It is nice to be up here because I am not a star and not on the podium very often."

With his first place in Oslo’s Pursuit, Martin Fourcade has signed the 20th victory of his career at only 24 years-old. He is now so close to win a second big crystal globe of the overall ranking. The biathlete of Team Rossignol has also offered his skis to the King of Norway Harald V who was here for the race!

Ondrej Moravec of the Czech Republic claimed the first victory of his career by taking the mass start with one penalty. Martin Fourcadeof France finished second, with three penalties, 13.7 seconds back. Germany’s Erik Lesser was 16.8 seconds back in third place, with one penalty. Tim Burke, silver medallist of the 20km individual in Nove Mesto, just missed the podium in fourth place, with two penalties, 19.1 seconds back.

Since 2001, Norway was titleholder of the Men Relay 4x10 km in World Championships. And Norway wins the gold medal here in Val di Fiemme. Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Eldar Roenning, Sjur Roethe and Petter Northug become World Champion ahead of Sweden (Richardsson, Olsson, Hellner and Halfvarsson) and Russia (Belov, Vylegzhanin, Legkov and Ustiugov).
One month ago, in la Clusaz, Eldar Roenning from Team Rossignol said that his dream was to “win a gold medal with the relay in Val di Fiemme”. It’s done! With Alexander Legkov in Team Russia, Rossignol counts now seven medals two days before the end of these World Championships.
