    Comments about Rossignol SQUAD 7:

"If these skis were a movie, they would be Fight Club or The Departed"

FINALLY had a chance to test out these beasts!! Almost any powder ski would test excellent in pristine powder conditions, nowadays powder skis are much different than even 7 years ago (case and point, Rossi Scratch BC from 2007, a ski I still own and will use as a reference in this review)

Just to show how different they are, the tips of the Scratch BC are only 7 millimeters wider than the CENTER (waistline) of this super wide "pair of snowboards"

"If these skis were a music band, they would be Metallica or Led Zeppelin"

So I tested them out at the tail end of a 5 foot snowstorm, 3 feet of which were ruined overnight with rains and finally 10 more inches of heavy snow on top of that... Super heavy, thick, soupy, avalanche runouts (like skiing through a demolished building)

"If these skis were a character in a movie, they would be the Terminator or NEO (Mr. Anderson)"

And they were amazing!!!! I was still under the impression that I would need something heavy like my 2010 Super 7 to beat this stuff up, not so with the new squad 7. First off, its light. Second off, its light. Did I mention its light? Most skis would shy away from these conditions. These were on full on attack mode. They wanted to destroy everything in their paths!!! I was able to make huge carving turns right down a super cruddy slope. I was able to tuck and stay stable easily for a powder ski. They take OFF too, I can get from 0-50 mph in under 6 seconds.

"If these skis were a TV show, they would be Breaking Bad or Sons Of Anarchy"

Perhaps the best part was comparing it to the reviews of the Soul 7. Everyone loved the super light super turny 17 meter radius, making squeaky tight turns in the trees in the powder.... Well I did all that with the Squad 7, and I can open the throttle and take advantage of the 30 meter raduis' stability for those fast runs far better than I could on any 17 meter ski.

"If these skis were a person, they would be Bruce Lee and Arnold combined"

I can go on and on but here's the bottom line. Take the best parts of my 2007 scratch BC (light, turny, carve forward and backwards easily) and the best parts of the 2010 Super 7 (stable, ability to bash ANYTHING in their path, and want to attack) and throw out all the bad parts of each (scratch was too turny, super 7 was WAY too heavy) and you end up with the 2014 Squad7. With all these attributes, who needs a Soul 7 ??? (I'm still getting those but no rush now) And for you shorter or less expert skiers, there is a 180cm also that also has a 29 meter radius

see ya on the slopes!! Ill be the one passing you

      Comments about Rossignol SQUAD 7:

Have skied the Squad 7s approximately 10 days in Jackson this year. (All great days with lots of new snow) Have to say I like the ski more and more by the day. Perfect for Jackson as its a nice smooth strong ski that gives back what you put into it. Much more maneuverable than I would have thought in the pow and rails surprisingly nice arcs on groomers. Probably its only downfall is that it is not as good in moguls as softer narrower ski would be.

      Comments about Rossignol SQUAD 7:

I used the product during Swiss Skitest days in Zermatt (CH) last weekend, the skis were very agile, responsive and required barely any effort. They had great flotation as well as very sharp performance on the slope, just as good as my Prophet 98`s (personal skis). However they did have some major speed wobble`s at approx. 60km/h which occured when i was going flat out but it was manageable. Overall a good ski and fairly lightweight. At the start of the weekend i was not anticipating in even trying this skis out but i am glad i did, as they were simply the best of the +120 underfoot of Movement,Atomic,K2,Scott and a few other brands.I will be purchasing a pair throughout this season.

            This ski likes to turn....kinda...
It is easier to manage than I remember last year's one, but it still likes a big turn and a lotta speed.
