Take a team of Canadian riders, an historic resort, add to it the “Dark Lord” of French ski cross and Snowlegend guides, sprinkle it all with powder and cheerfulness: you’ll get the result of the competition on line this winter!
Five montrealers have won the 1st prize of the web contest « Your Freeride Crew ». As a reminder, the participants were invited to create their own virtual crew on our Facebook page. This is the Canadian crew title (not without humor) « You don’t have the time to shave on a power day » which took the 1stprize : a week end with freeride ski initiation at la Grave.
These ski fanatics land in Grenoble on Wednesday 15th January for a sick freeride stay at the heart of La Grave ski resort. They were invited to live a really different experience on La Meije glacier with Enak Gavaggio, a multiple XGames freerider medal holder and the ski resort Snowlegend guide. They show to the montrealers high mountain ski (glaciers, lines, woods, waxing and… aperitifs) in a relaxed atmosphere. They have also enjoyed the warmth welcome from Edelweiss auberge at the foot of the slopes.
The winners have also discovered the Rossignol head office located in St Jean de Moirans, France and visited the manufacturing shop where are made, in the greatest secrecy, the athletes products for the Sochi Olympic Game. An opportunity that let them understood the creative process of the brand, and to see some skis of the next season!
Verdict, the Quebeckers had a lot of fun during this stay that they qualify of “stratospheric” and will remember of the journey “for ten years at least”.
We say to them “à tantôt” (see you) in the Alps for #AnotherBestDay

Dylan Florit, gives us some faith for the next generation of freeskiers. He is only 15 years old, and he’s already on the biggest national and Europeans competitions. He has his own style and real freeride skills. Last season, he finished 3rd position at the Junior Freeride competition of Verbier and went on a ski trip in Japan with Enak. It would be likely to think that it is only some other usual stuff when you dad is a guide at La Grave…We went to Deux Alpes to ask him some questions to know better about how a kid its age manages both freeski and schooling.
Describe your school, how can we get in and how does it work? Dylan: My school, we get in according to our sportive results. You must be in the French top 5 of your category. Because we are spending our time outside in trainings, competitions and ski camps all winters, we get our diploma in 4 years instead of 3. I am now completing my second year which equals to the first year in other common schools. Before winter, I attend school like other kids, but I train and I take additional classes at night to make sure I don’t miss anything during the ski season.
How do you manage yours classes, your trainings and your competitions all in the same time? Dylan: During winter, school sends us homework with predefined deadlines (often 15 days), but they’re flexible when we need extensions. Otherwise, we train almost all the time, even on summer time and before ski season starts on glaciers like at Saas Fee in Sweden, and at Deux Alpes in France.
What are your projects for your studies after Lycée? Dylan: After Lycée, I would like to join the IUT of Annecy so that I can continue high-level skiing
Your ski goals and projects? Dylan: My projects for the future; to be in the top 10 of France and to participate to Junior’s Freestyle World Championships, and to have fun skiing!

It has been months ago since I did my last update, am sory about that!
This summer I did alot of working at my uncles farm, I have been there the last summers. I worked as a glacier guide to the Norwegian highest mountain Galdhøpiggen before, but know I work at the farm. I do some guiding in weekends. I like working on farm, because I can work as my own boss, and the days is never the same, you do everything, working with tractor on the fields, carpentry, sometimes an mechanic, I like it alot. The money I make is for the winter to come. I have been at some Downhill biking festivals. I was at HillBilly Høkkfest, that was crazy. The worlds best bikers was there to give us an hell of a show, and the party? I cant say more, it was crazy. Here is a video from the festival: http://vimeo.com/71421817# watch it an get stoked! One of my best friends has his own biking festival. Its called Ponderosa Downhill, I went there to, but I have no videos from there, it was a blast. The summer has been good!
I did my shoulder surgery 12 of august, because I dislocate the shoulder so meny times in some years now, and I got tired of it, so I went to surgery. They did a good job. Some of my biceps muscle was ript of, and some other stuff they tited up, they did also an anchor in my shoulder, so it should not dislocate again. This fall has been very borig, I cant really do enything right know, am waiting for shoulder to get better, and progress has been good, I will get ready for the winter, and my physioterapiest is very positiv for my progress. I cant wait to ski again, do a tomahawk and get back to skiing again without thinking about my shoulder. And I will get to the gym and get strong as a bear, so I can do some big lines and cliffs. Am so ready for the winter to come!
What is new, thats I got a knew clothing sponsor, its Flylow, am quite excited for that.
Plans for the winter is not set yet, it will be some weeks in the Alps, but where, we dont know yet, but alot of skiing it will be!! I will come back with more plans soon.
