Jan Hudec has finished second of the Super G in Val Gardena behind Aksel Lund Svindal and ahead of Adrien Théaux. The Canadian racer claimed his first podium since March 2012 in Crans Montana. Today, the skier from Rossignol Team counts five World Cup podiums including two victories in Downhill. “I’m stoked I was able to ski the way I wanted to ski. I finally have no pain and that gives me great confidence to push hard and ski to my full potential. I was super focused today and I avoided any mistakes, which I made in Lake Louise and Beaver creek. Also my skis were perfect, I knew that without major mistakes I could be on the podium. This is just huge. It’s confirmation that I’ve been doing the right things and just going with it and being patient. I knew my time in the sport wasn’t up and I wouldn’t have carried on skiing if I didn’t believe I could do this.”

Tessa Worley has signed her 8th career victory with her win in St. Moritz’s Giant Slalom. The racer from Rossignol Team always felt relaxed on the Swiss slope because of her victory in 2010 and her third place in 2012. She was very happy to come back on the front of the stage after a complicated beginning of season. “I ‘m really satisfied today because it was not simple these last weeks. It is a beautiful day. The slope was magnificent, the snow was good, even if there was some tricky passages to manage. I try to stay very concentrated. I know this position, to be in the lead after the first run and I really wanted to win this race. My confidence stepped up a notch and I am great motivated at the idea of arriving in France for the next races. "
After a tight second run, Jessica Lindell Vikarby has confirmed her good shape, taking the second place. The Swedish racer had taken the first place of Beaver Creek’s Giant Slalom two weeks ago. After this race, she leads the World Cup GS ranking. The other results from Rossignol Team are good with Anémone Marmottan, 5th and Maria Pietilae-Holmner 6th.
Riders in this news : Stefan LUITZ
On the Face de Bellevarde slope, Marcel Hirscher was the strongest ahead of Thomas Fanara and the racer from Rossignol Team, Stefan Luitz. Last year, he had signed in the Val d’Isère the first podium of his young career, a second place. Born in 1992, Stefan Luitz is a very talented skier. After a knee injury in February, he found his best level with this second career podium.
“I injured my ACL in February and I am grateful for all those who helped me get back on skis. It is almost incredible that 10 months later I could be on the podium again. Last year I just ski my best starting from the back and earned a podium, but this year I was second after the second run so it was a new situation for me. Waiting on the start, being one of the last guys is a new experience for me and I had to adapt to it. But this type of adaptation is sure a good one and I am glad my nerves didn’t get the better of me.”
