For the third year in row, Martin Fourcade has won the Overall Crystal Globe of the Biathlon World Cup with 12 podiums including 5 victories this season. The racer from Rossignol Team has also taken the small globes of the Sprint, Pursuit and Mass Start.
After having secured his third overall globe and the Sprint globe last week in Kontiolahti, Martin Fourcade has shown in Oslo – for the last stage of the World Cup – who was the boss. 5th of the Pursuit, the French biathlete has secured the Pursuit globe and to end this incredible season he has won the last Mass Start and the globe of the discipline.
With its three Olympics medals, 2 in Gold and 1 in Silver Martin Fourcade has realized a very strong season and as he said on the video: “He is not the same man now”’!

Rossignol News: The huge list of hits of Martin Fourcade is representing in a vitrine at the Rossignol headquarter and during the next autumn, he will come to put inside its new trophies. Today, there is already 2 big crystal globes of Overall World Cup Winner (2012 and 2013), 7 small crystal globes: Sprint (2012 and 2013), Pursuit (2010, 2012 and 2013), Mass Start (2013) and Individual (2013), one silver Olympic medal in Mass Start 2010 and 12 World medals: five in gold, six in silver, one in bronze.
Winner of the Tour de Ski 2013 last year, Alexander Legkov has realized a strong season, achieving his main goal at Sochi Olympic Games with the 50km gold medal. He has also won a silver medal with Russia in the Relay and finished 2nd of the Overall World Cup standing and 2nd of the Distance World Cup ranking.
Please also note the two 4th places of Chris Andre Jespersen from Rossignol Team in the Overall and Distance World Cup rankings. Teodor Peterson, our silver Sprint medallist in Sochi, has also taken the 4th place of the Sprint World Cup standing.

Cross-Country: Alexander Legkov, third of the 50km Classic in Oslo
“I am little bit disappointed about third place, however, I am stronger in free technique so third place in classic feels like victory. After Sochi in Lahti I have been both mentally and physically tired. I felt in better shape today. My skis were very good“, said the 50km Olympic Champion.

Biathlon: Stage of Pokljuka
Italy's Dorothea Wierer has signed her first individual career podium finishing third of the Pursuit with three penalties, 54.4 seconds back. After winning the Mixed Relay Bronze Medal in Sochi, the biathlete from Rossignol Team was very happy: "I think the Olympic Games are more important, but also the podium here is really great, I never thought about it, so I am really happy. I feel good, my preparation was good and now I am happy with myself."
Three times Olympic Gold medalist Darya Domracheva won the Mass Start of Pokljuka in 36:16.4, with two penalties. Kaisa Mäkäräinen also with two penalties finished 22.2 seconds back in second position. Russia's Olga Zaitseva finished third. It’s the best result of the Rossignol racer since the opening week of this season.
Martin Fourcade, our double Olympic Champion in Pursuit and Individual, has finished 7th of the Sprint and the Pursuit and 2nd of the Mass Start. He confirms his World Cup leader rank ahead of Emil Svendsen.

After his 50km gold medal in Sochi, Alexander Legkov has shown that he was in a good shape in Lahti (FIN). The racer from Rossignol Team ended third of the 15km free behind Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Daniel Richardsson.
"It was not easy to concentrate on the World Cup again after the gold medal in Sochi. I am happy I could still keep the good shape. I felt very good today and I am glad to finish on the podium again. I look forward to the next competitions."

Russia has triumphed in the 50 km freestyle mass start race. Alexander Legkov, Maxim Vylegzhanin and Ilia Chernousov swept the entire set of medals of the Olympic mass start.

Alexander Legkov (RUS): "This is priceless. It's more valuable than my life, I can't express how I feel. For 15 years I've been trying for this result. My main tactic was just to save energy, stay in the leading group and try to control the strongest competitors. I'm just so tired, I can't comprehend what's going on."
