      The perfect everyday ski!
Spent the last season in St Anton and tried different types of all-mountain skis, such as the bbr and the head allmountain ski at 85mm, but these does thw job better in all terrains by far!

      Comments about Rossignol S3 OPEN:

I haven't seen a review based on a telemark application, so here goes. I'm 61 y.o, 160 pounds, 5'9" tall, boots: Scarpa Tx Comp, binding: NTN Freedom. location: Park City, Utah - so this is based on skiing out west where we don't know what ice is! The bindings are mounted boot center 1cm forward of zero which puts the ball of foot just about centered on the ski - I'd recommend that position. My normal ski for all mountain is an Armada JJ in a 185 cm. My bump ski is a 168 cm S3. Both are rockered, with the running length of the S3 (the front and back 10" are symmetrically rockered), amazingly, being the same as the running length on the JJ! I also own the 178 cm S3 which, if I had one ski would be my go to length and ski for every day use out here. The S3 skis switch effortlessly, floats well (even the 168, which is my bump ski, floats pretty well, though when I drive them in powder, the tip tends to dive a little bit - the 178 does not have that problem as it's the proper length for my weight). They are quick edge to edge and carve very well in our hardpack. They are light enough for backcountry/skinning. I doubt they would be a good choice for very hardpack days out east in a telemark application. They are light, so spinning and light park applications are good. I've recommended this ski to my friends who have tried them, gotten them and loved them as a telemark ski!

I'm 61 ex ski patrol. These skis are amazing in all conditions. Deep and steep they shine. Great in the bumps. Not a racing ski but stable at high speeds. If you are looking for a great all mountain ski that excels in the pow and can ski groomers in the afternoon with the wife these are hard to beat.

          Comments about Rossignol S3 OPEN:

I was at Whistler last winter and saw tons of these. Decided to demo a pair when I got back to my home PNW ski area. I liked them so much I bought a pair.

It is a great all-mountain ski for soft snow groomers and powder. Really easy to ski and just fun! It carves on the groomers but has a little trouble in really firm conditions. (For that reason I would not recommend this as an East coast ski for daily use.)

Note: I ski it a size up from my regular ski because the rocker tip and tail reduces the running length.

unbelievable ski for trees, powder, and mogels. i'm an east coast tree skier and i have tested the S3 at Jay Peak, the epicenter of eastern powder and trees. they slither through tight tree lines and mogels. they are incredibly quick in tight spots and float great. Also skis great in spring conditions and they hold up on hardpack. I'm 150 lbs and 5'9" and ski on the 167cm. I would probably upsize if i skied much out west or go to the S7.i have no negative thoughts about this ski.

              Comments about Rossignol S3 OPEN:

while i was up at jay peak i demoed the s3. man were they fun. on my way home i stopped in new Hampshire and picked up a pair. only problem was that it was march. they didn't see snow until this december. My first day out it was super icy, i was a little anxious to see how the s3 was going to perform. They were better than i could have imagined. the next weekend i was skiing in two feet of powder, and they couldn't have performed better. yesterday it was around 5 degrees out and the snow was real hard. i ripped groomers just like i did when i raced and they were super stable. The s3 truely is the east coast powder ski because it works best in powder, but it performs great in everything else.
