The Bronze medal for Aino Kaisa Saarinen in the 10 km C in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships at Oslo!

Riders in this news :  Aino Kaisa SAARINEN

First medal for Rossignol and first medal for Finland today on these 2011 World Champhionships! After her World Champion title on this same discipline in 2009 at Liberec, Aino Kaisa Saarinen clinches the bronze in today’s 10 km classical!
A very strong race for the great Rossignol Rossignol athlete who succeeded in staying in the top 3 during the entire competition. She finishes only at 9.7 seconds from the winner and favourite Marit Bjorgen. After a difficult beginning of season due to an injury at the left shoulder, this is a great comeback and a nice revenge that the 32 year-old champion is taking today!
«I am so happy with this medal. For sure, I was hoping for the Gold today but I am nevertheless very satisfied to be on the podium and to finish the competition with less than 10 seconds behind Marit. Everything has been perfect for the race today. I had excellent skis, very well prepared and sometimes I felt that I was able to  fly on the entire 10 km. This competition is a real satisfaction for me but also for the Finnish team. This is the first medal for Finland and this will give us a very positive energy for the races to come.
I had a hard start of season due to an injury at the left shoulder but I did everything to try to keep a fighting spirit and to come back at my highest level in the last weeks. This medal is a great reward. Now, we will go for the Gold with my team-mates in the women’s relay scheduled on Thursday. I don’t know yet if I will compete the 30 km. My main objective was today’s race, so I will see at the end of the week if I will be at the start on Saturday.”
