Russia’s Alexander Legkov has taken the third place in the final stage of the Ruka Triple, Eldar Roenning from Norway finishes second of 10km Classic whereas Sweden’s Teodor Petterson ends third of the Classic Sprint.
Eldar Roenning was not at the start of the Pursuit 12,5km this Sunday so it’s Norway's Martin Johnsrud Sundby who has won the final stage of the Ruke Triple ahead of Maxim Vylehgzhanin and Alexander Legkov from Rossignol Team.
Alexander Legkov (RUS): “I am happy about the third place. My shape has been good and the result today gave me confidence for the next months. Olympics are the biggest goal for me but I also hope I will be in a good shape for the Tour de Ski.“
After his second place during the 10km Classic, Eldar Roenning takes the lead of the Overall World Cup and the Ruka Triple.
Eldar Rønning (NOR) : ” I felt quite good and had a fast 2.0 km before the finish. It was an exciting competition. Some of the top skiers started in front, some in the middle so it was nice to watch. I have not been in the yellow bib almost seven years. Tomorrow is skating and I have no hopes to be in top 10.”
It was the first race of the season and the first podium for Teodor Peterson, Rossignol’s Sprint specialist and winner of the Sprint World Cup in 2012.
Teodor Peterson (SWE): ” I did hope for a podium today. I had a good summer and autumn. I hope I can carry on the good shape and have more of such good competitions like today. It would be great if I could keep a steady shape during the whole season. Hopefully it will be enough to be one of the best sprinters this season.”
