Frida Hansdotter offers to Team Rossignol its fourth medal in these World Championships. She grabs the third place of the slalom after leading the first run. The Swedish girl takes the bronze medal behind Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) and Michaela Kirchgasser (AUT). At 27 years old and for her third participation to a World Championship, Frida has realized two strong runs.
“I’m very happy of my third place. It was a new experience for me to be the leader of the first run. It was a good race, the conditions were perfect. I had the feeling that I could ski fast. It’s my state of mind this season. We have also a stronger team, it’s good for the future.”
With four podiums this season in World Cup (Maribor, Flachau, Zagreb, Are), Frida Hansdotter has shown that she is strong in this discipline but also in giant slalom with her 5th place here in Schladming. Her teammate Maria Pietilae-Holmner, who comes back from an injury, finishes 6th and pays tribute to her.
“I’m really happy for Frida, she made a great season, and it’s very good for her. For me, I would like to say that I’m satisfied with my second run. To be the fastest of the run shows that I could do really fast skiing. I was very disappointed of my first run, I did some mistakes and lost lot of time.”
Congratulations to Frida and Maria for this race!
