Marion Rolland becomes World Champion of downhill this Sunday in Schladming. The French racer has realized the perfect run on a slope she loves a lot! Last year, the skier of Team Rossignol has signed here in Austria her two first career podiums with a 2nd place in Downhill and a 3rd place in Super G. “I was happy to come back here but I knew that the conditions will be different. The trainings were not good for me, I hadn’t good feelings but I told me that I should believe in me more.

With his bib 22, Marion Rolland was motivated by the good results of the French Team with Gauthier De Tessières silver medal and David Poisson bronze medal. “My dad sends me a sms this morning to say that the gold misses to French Team and that it will be good that I grab it! After the Super G, I question myself and I said to me that it was today or never for this downhill!

Nadia Fanchini take sthe second place ahead of Marie Höfl-Riesch. 47 years after Marielle Goitschel, Marion Rolland wins a gold medal in downhill for French Team. She offers to Team Rossignol the first gold medal of these World Championships. Huge congratulations Marion!
