Another Best Run for Innerhofer

Riders in this news :  Christof INNERHOFER

This Saturday, in Wengen, Christof Innerhofer has totally controlled the Lauberhorn Downhill and grabs his second season victory after Beaver Creek last December. The Italian gets in front two Austrians Klaus Kroell (+0.30) and Hannes Reichelt (+0.76). From Friday, the triple world medallist in Garmisch has shown good things winning the downhill of Super Combined. But finally, he ended 5th after slalom.

I pushed as hard as I could for as long as I could. I am really happy with my run, I think I made no mistakes but Kroell sure wasn’t joking either and gave it a good shot. I skied a run like never before, I can definitely say that. I was able to push hard in the difficult sections while at the same time being light on the skis on the gliding sections. It’s really special winning here in Wengen – everything is special about this place. The crowd is amazing the train that we use to get to the top is a unique experience and the helicopter ride back into town comes as icing on the cake! I couldn’t be happier!

Equipped from head to foot by Rossignol this year, Innerhofersigns the 5th victory of his career, the 3rd in Downhill. He takes also the second place of the discipline’s ranking (52 points late) behind Aksel Lund Svindal. Winnerhofer is back!
