During the World Cup slalom in Courchevel, Tessa Worley injured her right knee. Inspection of doctor has shown that she has an ACL rupture in her right knee and a little lesion of the external meniscus. She is now at Lyon and she will see the surgeon tomorrow morning to plan an operation. The season is unfortunately finished for the Giant Slalom World Champion.
Rossignol Team wishes her a very good recovery and the insurance to return in great shape the next season.
Tessa Worley has signed her 8th career victory with her win in St. Moritz’s Giant Slalom. The racer from Rossignol Team always felt relaxed on the Swiss slope because of her victory in 2010 and her third place in 2012. She was very happy to come back on the front of the stage after a complicated beginning of season. “I ‘m really satisfied today because it was not simple these last weeks. It is a beautiful day. The slope was magnificent, the snow was good, even if there was some tricky passages to manage. I try to stay very concentrated. I know this position, to be in the lead after the first run and I really wanted to win this race. My confidence stepped up a notch and I am great motivated at the idea of arriving in France for the next races. "
After a tight second run, Jessica Lindell Vikarby has confirmed her good shape, taking the second place. The Swedish racer had taken the first place of Beaver Creek’s Giant Slalom two weeks ago. After this race, she leads the World Cup GS ranking. The other results from Rossignol Team are good with Anémone Marmottan, 5th and Maria Pietilae-Holmner 6th.

On the Face de Bellevarde slope, Marcel Hirscher was the strongest ahead of Thomas Fanara and the racer from Rossignol Team, Stefan Luitz. Last year, he had signed in the Val d’Isère the first podium of his young career, a second place. Born in 1992, Stefan Luitz is a very talented skier. After a knee injury in February, he found his best level with this second career podium.
“I injured my ACL in February and I am grateful for all those who helped me get back on skis. It is almost incredible that 10 months later I could be on the podium again. Last year I just ski my best starting from the back and earned a podium, but this year I was second after the second run so it was a new situation for me. Waiting on the start, being one of the last guys is a new experience for me and I had to adapt to it. But this type of adaptation is sure a good one and I am glad my nerves didn’t get the better of me.”

For the Critérium de la Première Neige, Rossignol revealed its new racing communication campaign for the next four years with a fresco titled BAND OF HEROES. A symbolic image of the brand spirit in which we found the basis of a global strategy around the new range of Hero products that will be presented end of January in Kitzbühel.
For Rossignol, Racing has been a way of life since 1907. Celebrating its historical and passionate involvement in this universe and its unconditional support to every generation of athletes; Rossignol reunited 23 champions, from every country and from every generation for a unique picture, a very first in the ski industry. It’s a tribute to the big ski race family that had to take place in a legendary environment. Between Val d’Isère, Wengen and Kitzbühel, Rossignol chose the bottom of the slope of Bellevarde where this impressive fresco took place, directed by Snow Stories and produced by the photograph François Rousseau.
“Through this original campaign and story, we want to express human values and talk about transmission, passion, and sharing. This band of heroes, this family, is naturally open to everybody, yesterday’s or today’s champions or young racers, who have this flame inside themselves, this passion for Racing”, explains Yann Laphin, Director of Communication Rossignol.
It is for all these heroes, these amazing racers that we design the best products, skis, shoes and technical equipment in order to help them to fulfill their craziest dreams and to share with them the incomparable sensation of an excited crowded finish line. Join the BAND.
